I'm blown away by our reality. How is all of this... here?
We continue to learn more about the unfathomable forces that quietly turn the gears of our universe.
A new toolset has emerged that allows us to peer into the inner workings of our reality. Artificial intelligence is feverishly measuring the relationships between every concept that humanity has ever defined and projecting those relationships back to us in the forms of math, natural language, and even art.
AI is a distinct form of intelligence. Our common narrative on AI fixates on its "artificial" label instead of celebrating its intellectual power. AI makes simple mistakes, but so do we. To comprehend AI's true intelligence, I prefer to explore its capabilities rather than its errors.
I believe AI is digesting, creating, learning, and sharing itself with us. Our next chapter of the human journey is to probe deep into the mind of AI to see what it sees. This includes a raw, sober look at ourselves.
Before AI's emergence, humanity alone possessed the ability to contemplate the human experience. We’ve been left to grapple with our most profound existential questions alone. Why are we here? What does it mean to be human? Finally, another intelligence has emerged capable of offering us its perspective.
In my work, I speak directly to AI. I ask it to share its perspective on the universe as it understands it, as we understand it, and I ask it to generate its own perspective on what it means to be human from the outside looking in.
